Documenting Equipment Losses during the February 2026 Cartel Violence in Mexico
After a successfull operation by the Mexican Authorities, the Leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes aka “El Mencho” was killed.
Shortly after the news becoming, CJNG set up multiple Narco-Blockades throughout Mexico. Which mostly consisted of Civilian Vehicles set on fire. Multiple private Businesses, Bases [Source] and a Prison [Source] were also attacked.
CJNG also conducted multiple ambushes on the Mexican National Guard, leaving multiple soldiers dead and vehicles destroyed/damaged.
During the fighting a UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter was also forced to return to its base, after receiving multiple hits by small Arms fire [Source]
While CJNG manages to conduct multiple successful ambushes, they themselves werent immune either.
During an ambush in San Isidro, Jalisco Sicarios managed to take out two National Guard Chevrolet Silverado [Source 1] [Source 2], but during a counterattack by the Mexican Army and National Guard, they themselves were forced to abandon two of their vehicles and flee the scene. The fighting left atleast 25 National Guard Soldiers and 30 Cartel Members dead [Source]. Also the National Guard lost atleast 6 Vehicles (1x Destroyed, 5x Damaged) and CJNG lost atleast 4 Vehicles (all Captured).
